Discovery Saxophones
Designed Specifically for the Developing Musician

Developing Musicians
The quality of care that goes into making our Discovery saxophone is just like the more expensive Temby instruments. The main differences are the materials, designs and time taken to make a complete instrument. Elite level saxophones require much more sophisticated and time consuming processes to make sure that engineering is incredibly precise.
We believe every developing musician should have the best possible chance of success playing a musical instrument. Our Discovery saxophones will give you that opportunity. They are aimed specifically at developing musicians, whether they are children or adults doesn’t really matter, our Discovery saxophone is the best answer.
Discover the Reasons Why:
Metal Quality, Quiet Keywork and Lots of Extras.
- The Discovery saxophones are made with high quality brass alloys with higher copper content which makes the saxophone easier to play.
- The neck collar is made from heavier gauge metal which makes it difficult for students to damage.
- Thicker tone hole walls which is a huge advantage if the saxophone should get damaged.
- Wheelie Backpack Case with lots of pockets. The inside fits the instrument perfectly.
- Standard blue steel springs for light and fast response.
- Italian leather pads with metal resonators which helps push the sound vibrations back into the body of the saxophone. These pads make a difference!
Discover the Saxophones:

Discover the Details:
OCTAVE MECHANISM
Underslung octave mechanism - a tried and proven design. Easy for students to use. The thumb needs minimal movement to engage the octave key which means less hand movement and better technique.
HIGH NOTE SPATULA KEY
Spatula key and NOT a button for the high E, F and F#. This provides easy and comfortable access to those high notes.
PALM KEYS
Closer to the sax body to fit young students hands. The position of the palm keys are set so that they are easy to operate with the fingers alone. This requires less movement of the left wrist and arm which helps to maintain good balance of the saxophone when playing the palm keys.
THUMB PLATE
A slightly higher and shaped solid brass thumb plate for young players. It gives better access to the octave key and is very comfortable. Great for technique!
LEFT HAND LITTLE FINGER TABLE
The Left Hand Little Finger Table has been raised up a few millimetres so that young hands can easily reach the G# and low C#, B and Bb notes.
C and Eb KEYS
Low C and Eb keys are scalloped and moved higher to allow little fingers to locate and reach the keys.
BELL KEY GUARD
The bell key guard is very solid and angled so that it won’t get caught in clothing.
LONG KEYS DOUBLE ARMED
The low C and Bb keys are long so we have designed double arms for them to keep them safe from bending.
